Classes at Birds Of A Feather in Darlington

Oil Painting with Vicky McLain begins Wednesday, March 17th. Vicky will offer classes from 10 to 12 and 1 to 3. $70 plus supplies. The class will meet on March 17th & 24th and April 14th & 21st.

Watercolors with Anna Coe: Color theory and design made easy. Begins Monday, March 22nd from 9:30-11:30. 5 classes. $85 plus supplies. Meeting dates are March 22nd, 29th and April 12th, 19th & 26th.

Open Studio with Vicky McLain on Tuesdays. Any media welcomed from 1-3. Four classes for $70.

Beginning knitting with Lauri McLeland every Thursday at 1:00. $10 per class. Advanced knitters invited to join the group at no cost, just bring a project you are working on.

Watercolor Classes with Frankie Bush

One Monday in March, April and May, Frankie Bush will be leading a series of watercolor classes at Black Creek Arts Center. Dates are March 8, April 5, and May 10. The classes are perfect for levels from beginner to intermediate. Class will take place from 10am to 2 pm...please bring a bag lunch. Cost for each session is $40. Click here to view a supply list. Upcoming Children's Classes

Art Classes

with Bethany Perry

This class will be offered on Wednesday afternoons in February from 4-5 at Black Creek Arts Center. Classes start February 3 through February 24. This class is aimed at students in grades 1-5. The cost is $35.

The class will explore several famous artists' lives and work through art making, story telling, books, games, and songs.

"Tiny Artists" Classes

An upcoming art class for "tiny artists" ages 3-5 will start in February. Classes will take place each Tuesday, from 3:30-4:00 at the arts center, starting February 2-February 23. The cost for the class is $30.

Monthly Metals for Kids..."Making a Ring"

with instuctor Beth Wicker

This class will take place at the arts center on February 11th, from 3:30-4:30. Students will have the chance to make their own adjustable copper ring. They will learn to mark and file the metal and create textures with hammers and metal stamps. Cost for the class is $20. Open to students in 3rd grade and up.

Hand-building with Clay Classes

with instructor Mary Lou Bailey

On Tuesday evenings in February, starting February 9th, Mary Lou Bailey will be teaching hand-building pottery techniques for interested kids ages 8 and above. In the class, students will have a chance to make wonderful hand built clay creations...like Mary Lou's clay cats. Cost for the class is $35.

Beginner Knitting

Shirley Hilson will offer beginning knitting classes at Black Creek Arts Center on Saturday afternoons starting January 23 through February 13. The classes will take place from 4-6pm. Cost for the class is $40.

Monthly Metals...Jewlery Workshop

Artist and instructor Beth Wicker is starting a Jewlery Making Series called "MONTHLY METALS" at the arts center. These one session classes will take place on first Thurdays of the month and offer different jewelry making techniques each time.

February will kick off the series with "Making a Cuff Bracelet." During this session, students will work in copper and brass to make a textured cuff bracelet. (Silver will be available for an additional fee based on the current metals market.) You will learn how to draw on metal, cut it, file it, and texture it with hammers & metal texturing stamps.

The class will be held at the Arts Center on February 11th, from 5-8pm. The cost for the class is $70 and includes all the supplies needed to make and take your own bracelet. (But please bring a pair of safety glasses and something to tie back long hair.) Welcome to grades 7 through adult.

Drawing Leading to Painting

Beginning Printmaking Class
Derrick Wilson will be leading a printmaking class starting Thursday evenings, January 21 through February 11, at BCAC. The class will take place from 6-8pm. Cost to be announced.

Watercolor Painting with Bob Fuery

Bob Feury will be instructing a watercolor painting class. This will be a painting class which explores color, composition, balance and textures while learning and working with the art medium watercolor. Classes will take place at the arts center on Monday evenings in February from 7-9pm starting February 1 through February 22. Cost for the class is $75.
